We think it's a great base for staying in Devizes. The hotel serves porridge and eggs for breakfast. Plus, the location is marvellous, minutes from Wansdyke Community School.

Everything was good here - very pleasant staff and functional rooms. The location was excellent, around 4-6 minutes' walk from Kennet and Avon Canal. There were a small market and a market around the hotel. Food in the super restaurant was YUMMY. The service we got was good. Could use their free parking. Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel, brilliant place for wedding. Pleasantly decorated superior double room, lovely beds. Incredible location of the property, near centre, the Avon, and traffic pretty constant.

Location - marvellous and lovely close enough to the main streets in town and traffic pretty constant. Also, down the Avon & Kennet canal...

great shower but noisy street
The shower experience was a standout, providing excellent pressure and temperature control. Dinner service was prompt, with food that exceeded my expectations.
Street noise can disrupt a peaceful night.

This place id amazing! Super cozy boutique inn with a great bar n restaurant. Staff are so friendly n helpful, totally. The porridge at breakfast was the best ive ever had, like, we all loved it. N the charm of the old building is just lovely, creaky floorboards n all.
Only thing was the cleaning could have been better, we found some dust n dog hair on the floor. A bit creaky at night but that's just part of the charm i guess.

Staying here was a delight. I loved the cozy feel of the historic building and the food was surprisingly gourmet, especially the burger! The lovely garden area had a great spot for relaxing with a book. Some comfortable loungers to catch the sun. A minor thing was the lack of a shelf in the shower, which made reaching my shower gel a bit tricky, but it smelled amazing! 🌼

A lovely historic place that excels in providing a comfortable atmosphere. The room was clean and airy, with a cozy bed that ensured a good night's sleep. Fresh milk and quality tea were a nice touch, and the food, especially the bangers, made dining a delight. A gentle wake-up knock from the staff was much appreciated. Good service overall.

The Black Swan is a gem, mate! The food was great, especially the baked chocolate cakes that could make anyone weak at the knees. The vibe's totally chill, and the staff are as friendly as your local pub mates. Plus, great location for a wander around town!
We had a bit of a rough time with room 7. Right above the kitchen's extractor, it reeked of cooking when we hit the sack. And don't get me started on that 4-poster bed. It blocked the TV view like a bad day out! Needs a clean behind those cabinets too.

It was a good match for a swift visit in Devizes with a reasonable price. I got locked out at 12:30am, but they helped me quickly and calmly over the phone. Make sure to ask for a quiet room if you need some sleep.
